* Cifra de afaceri de 1,55 miliarde de lei, fata de 1,74 miliarde de lei in primele noua luni ale anului 2012, in special din cauza scaderii pretului aluminiului pe Bursa de Metale de la Londra (LME);
* Cresterea vanzarilor pentru produsele din aluminiu procesat cu 10%, fata de primele noua luni ale anului 2012;
* Cresterea costurilor de productie, determinata in principal de majorarea semnificativa a eco-taxelor (certificate verzi si taxa de cogenerare);
* Continuarea investitiilor pentru sectorul de Aluminiu Procesat si pentru linia de procesare a deseurilor de aluminiu;
Alro SA (BVB: ALR, “Compania” sau “Alro”), unul dintre cei mai mari producatori de aluminiu din Europa Centrala si de Est, a inregistrat in primele noua luni ale anului 2013, o pierdere neta ajustata de 21 de milioane de lei, fata de un profit net ajustat de 83 de milioane de lei realizat in primele noua luni ale anului 2012, in conformitate cu Standardele Internationale de Raportare Financiara (IFRS).
Cifra de afaceri a Companiei, in primele noua luni ale anului 2013, a fost de 1,55 miliarde de lei, fata de 1,74 miliarde de lei in perioada similara a anului anterior.
“Rezultatele financiare continua sa fie afectate semnificativ de criza cu care se confrunta piata internationala a aluminiului si de eco-taxele locale”, a declarat Marian Nastase, Presedintele Consiliului de Administratie al Alro S.A. “Desi am implementat toate masurile necesare pentru cresterea eficientei operatiunilor, factorii externi mentionati mai sus au influentat intr-un mod negativ rezultatele Companiei. Cu toate acestea, vom continua strategia de dezvoltare pe termen lung, axata,in principal, pe produsele cu valoare adaugata mare si suntem in permanenta pregatiti sa luam toate masurile necesare pentru a ne proteja operatiunile”.
Vânzarile de aluminiu primar au ramas la un nivel similar cu cel din primele noua luni ale anului 2012, respectiv la aproximativ 107.000 de tone, in vreme ce vânzarile de aluminiu procesat au crescut la 53.400 de tone, in primele noua luni ale anului 2013, de la 48.400 de tone in perioada similara din 2012. Cresterea totala a productiei de aluminiu procesat a fost de 10%, in primele trei trimestre ale anului 2013. Aceasta crestere nu s-a reflectat in valoarea vânzarilor, deoarece pretul aluminiului pe Bursa de Metale de la Londra a continuat sa scada semnificativ si pe parcursul anului 2013, atingand un nivel mediu de 1.871 USD/tona, in primele noua luni ale anului 2013, fata de un nivel mediu de 2.025 USD/tona in perioada similara a anului 2012.
In plus, fata de pretul scazut al aluminiului, Alro a continuat sa se confrunte si cu factori locali adversi,care nu pot fi controlati de catre Companie, respectiv supracompensarea sectorului de energie regenerabila. Prin urmare, costul vanzarilor a crescut cu 23,8 milioane de lei, in primele noua luni ale anului 2013, in comparatie cu perioada similara din 2012, in principal din cauza majorarii semnificative a taxelor cu energia (certificate verzi si taxa de cogenerare). Cota anuala pentru certificate verzi a fost de pana la 0,191 CV/MWh, fata de 0,1188 CV/MWh in primele noua luni ale anului 2012.
Cu toate acestea, Alro a continuat sa isi extinda activitatile de promovare pe pietele internationale pentru produsele cu valoare adaugata mare. In primele noua luni ale acestui an, Alro a continuat investitiile in cresterea competitivitatii. Compania si-a axat investitiile pe activele pe termen lung si pe dezvoltarea sectorului de aluminiu procesat. In plus, Alro a continuat sa investeasca in procesarea deseurilor de aluminiu pentru a reduce costurile cu energia si pentru a diminua efectele cresterilor dramatice ale taxelor privind consumul de energie.Financial and operational data

Alro SA (BVB: ALRO Slatina, one of the biggest aluminum producers in Central and Eastern Europe, closed the first three quarters of 2013 with net losses of 21mn RON, compared to net adjusted profits of 83mn RON for the first three quarters of 2012, in accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
“The financial results are still seriously impacted by the crisis on the international aluminum market and by the local environmental taxes”, said Mr. Marian Nastase, chairman of the board. “Although we took all the necessary steps to increase the efficiency of our operations, the aforementioned external factors had a negative impact on the company’s results. Nevertheless, we will continue our long-term development strategy, based mainly on high added value products, and we are permanently ready to take all the necessary steps to protect our operations”.
The primary aluminum sales stayed at a level comparable to the first three quarters of 2012, namely around 107,000 tons, while the sales of processed aluminum advanced to 53.400 tons for the first three quarters of 2013, compared to 48,400 tons over the similar period of 2012. The overall increase of the processed aluminum production was 10% for the same period of 2013, but it was not seen in the value of the sales, as the price of aluminum at the LME kept decreasing significantly in 2013, reaching $1.871 per ton for the first three quarters of 2013, from $2.025 during the same period of 2012.
Besides the low price of aluminum, ALRO had to face local adversities out of the company’s control, namely the overcompensation for the renewable energy industry. As a result, the costs of sales were 23.8mn RON higher for the first three quarters of 2013, compared to the similar period of 2012, mainly due to significantly increased energy taxes (green certificates and cogeneration tax). The annual quota of green certificates was up to 0.191 certificates/MWh, compared to 0.1188 certificates/MWh for the first three quarters of 2012.
Nevertheless, ALRO kept expanding its promotions on the international markets for high added value products. Over the first three quarters of 2013, ALRO kept investing in increasing its competitiveness. The investments were focused on long-term assets and on the development of the processed aluminum section. ALRO also continued its investments in processing recovered aluminum, to reduce its energy costs and to compensate the effects of dramatic surges of the taxes on the energy consumption.
